A multipurpose tray is an uncommon feature for a budget personal laser, so it is a nice bonus. It holds only 150 sheets in its main tray, though it does also have a 10-sheet multipurpose tray for alternate media. Its compact size comes with a few tradeoffs, and one of them is smaller than average paper capacity.
It will fit in even the smallest spaces, and is about the size of a large inkjet printer. It measures just 7.6 inches by 13.7 inches by 8.8 inches (HWD) and weighs only 10.3 pounds. The HP P1006 is a very compact printer, just like the LaserJet P1005 toner printer.
It has decent print speeds and good quality, but it doesn't have as much to offer for the price as competing products. The HP LaserJet P1006 is a monochrome laser printer designed for the personal user.
